Upgrading to SAS Web Analytics 5.4

Before You Upgrade

  1. Save any SAS Web Report Studio reports and SAS information maps that have been customized in SAS Web Analytics. It is recommended that you move the customized reports from the /Programs/SAS Web Analytics folder.
  2. Check the permissions for the directory of the WEBA library. The user name for the operating system must be able to read and write to this directory and have read and write permissions for all *.sas7bvew files in the directory.
    To determine the location of this directory:
    1. Open SAS Management Console.
    2. Click the Plug-ins tab.
    3. Double-click Data Library Manager, and select Libraries.
    4. Right-click WEBA, and from the pop-up menu, select Properties. The Properties dialog box appears.
    5. Click the Options tab.
      The directory for the WEBA library is listed under Path Specifications.

How to Upgrade to SAS Web Analytics 5.4

After you save any customized reports and check the permissions for the WEBA library, you can upgrade to SAS Web Analytics 5.4.
  1. Install SAS Web Analytics 5.4. To verify that the installation is complete:
    1. Open the directory for the WEBA library and verify that it now contains five *.sas7bvew files.
    2. Review the /config/Lev1/Logs/Configure/create_views.log file to verify that there were no issues when creating the views.
  2. Add users and groups in SAS Management Console. For more information, see the SAS Web Analytics: Administrator’s Guide.
  3. Migrate SAS Web Analytics 5.3x Web marts to SAS Web Analytics 5.4. For more information, see the SAS Web Analytics: Administrator’s Guide.

Installing SAS Web Analytics

The term “upgrading” assumes that you have a previous version of SAS Web Analytics installed at your site. If you are installing SAS Web Analytics for the first time, then complete these steps to install SAS Web Analytics 5.4:
  1. Install SAS Web Analytics 5.4. To verify that the installation is complete:
    1. Open the directory for the WEBA library and verify that it contains five *.sas7bvew files.
      To determine the location of this directory, open SAS Management Console and click the Plug-ins tab. Double-click Data Library Manager, and select Libraries. Right-click WEBA, and from the pop-up menu, select Properties. The Properties dialog box appears. Click the Options tab.The directory for the WEBA library is listed under Path Specifications.
    2. Review the /config/Lev1/Logs/Configure/create_views.log file to verify that there were no issues when creating the views.
  2. Install these hot fixes from http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/HF2/92_whats_new.html:
    • SAS Middle Tier 9.2_M2 hot fix: C80002. After installing this hot fix, follow the instructions for an installation update of the SAS Infrastructure Platform and Shared Services.
    • SAS Management Console 9.2_M2 hot fix: B04005
    • SAS Data Integration Studio 4.21_M2 hot fix: B51002 and C63001
    • SAS Web Analytics 5.4 hot fix: D77001
  3. Add users to the Web Analytics user groups in SAS Management Console. For more information, see the SAS Web Analytics: Administrator’s Guide.
