Product-Specific Details |
The technology that is used for these SAS Data Surveyors has changed:
SAS Data Surveyor for Oracle Applications
SAS Data Surveyor for PeopleSoft
SAS Data Surveyor for Siebel
In the 4.2 release, SAS accessed the underlying data source for these applications and brought that data into applications such as SAS Data Integration Studio for data integration.
The change for the 4.6 release is that SAS accesses the data in these Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications through the Composite Information Server, which Composite Software, Inc., provides. After the Composite Information Server has access to the data, SAS is then configured to read the data from Composite using SAS/ACCESS 9.2 Interface to ODBC.
The consequence to SAS Data Surveyor 4.2 customers is that existing libraries and jobs that rely on those libraries will no longer work. The release 4.2 libraries reference the underlying ERP data source and a library created with the 4.6 release software is an ODBC data source that references the Composite Information Server.
For more information about accessing the ERP data sources using SAS Data Surveyors 4.6, see these documents:

Note: SAS Data Surveyor 4.2 for SAP is unaffected by this change. The data access implementation for this data surveyor remains the same in release 4.3 as it was in release 4.2.
