You can use the find
text features to locate the search results that contain a specified
text string.
review the results of your search for a given text
string
The
SAP
R/3 Metadata Search page is displayed the results that
match the search criteria that you specified in the
Search Metadata for String dialog
box. The search results are grouped according to the search options
that you specified.
modify or refine your metadata search
You can either revise
your metadata search criteria or refine your search by searching within
the returned search results.
display the metadata and data contents of a selected
table
You can select a table
that is listed in the search results and view both the metadata for
that table as well as the data in that table.
select the tables for which you want to write metadata
to the metadata repository
You can select the
tables that you want to identify as data sources in your SAS Data
Integration Studio data warehouse. Metadata for source tables is written
to the metadata repository and data stores that correlate to the tables
are created in the data warehouse.
The page contains these
items
text string box
lets you specify a
text string that you want to search for. After you enter the text
string, click Find Text to search all returned
search results to locate the results that contain the specified text
string.
Search Results list
displays a tree view
of the results of your search and lets you select the tables that
you want to specify as data sources. Results are grouped based on
the search string that you specified in the
Search Metadata for String dialog
box. You can expand and collapse the folders in the Source Node tree
view to view your search results. Search results groups include these
items.
Tables
displays all tables
that met the specified search criteria. This search results group
is displayed when you select the Tables check
box in the Search Metadata for String dialog
box.
Datamodel
displays all tables
with a data model that met the specified search criteria. This search
results group is displayed when you select the Datamodel check
box in the dialog box. The data models are displayed in hierarchical
tree view. The tree view includes only the data models that contain
your search string. You can expand and collapse the folders in the
tree view as needed to locate the tables that you want.
Entities
displays all tables
that contain entities that met the specified search criteria. This
search results group is displayed when you select the Entities check
box in the Search Metadata for String dialog
box. Entities are listed in a tree view in numerical order. You can
expand and collapse the folders in the tree view as needed to locate
the tables that you want.
Tables with Columns
displays all tables
and views that met the specified search criteria. This search results
group is displayed when you select the Tables with Columns check
box in the Search Metadata for String dialog
box.
Columns
displays all tables
that contain a column that met the search criteria that you specified.
This search results group is displayed when you select the Columns check
box in the Search Metadata for String dialog
box. Tables are listed in alphabetical order according to technical
table name.
To select a table,
highlight the table that you want in the
Search Results list
and click

to move it to the
Selected Sources list.
Click

to move all tables. You can use the Shift and Ctrl
keys to select multiple tables.
Selected Sources tree
lists all tables that
you have selected from the
Search Results group
box. To remove a table from the
Selected Sources list,
highlight the table in the
Selected Sources list
and then click

. Click

to remove all selected tables.
The page contains these

Find Text
searches all returned
search results to locate the results that contain the text string
that you entered in the Text String box.
Expand
lets you expand all
subnodes within a selected node in the Search Results group
box or Selected Sources list.
SAP Metadata Search
displays the
Search Metadata for String dialog
box. You can use this dialog box to search the pre-extracted SAP R/3
metadata for a given text string. You can also use it to limit the
search to tables, entities, data models, and other filtering choices.
The
SAP Metadata Search button lets you perform
multiple searches without removing any of the tables from the
Selected
Sources list.
Search Within Results
displays the
Search Metadata for String dialog
box and enables you to refine your search by searching within the
already returned search results.
Delete Node
lets you delete the
selected node from the list of search results.
Display Table Metadata
displays the
Displaying Metadata for SAP Table dialog
box. You can use this dialog box to view such metadata as the field
name, field text, and field format for a selected table.
Undo Last Move
lets you undo your
last action. For example, if you accidentally delete a node, click
this button to restore that node to the list of search results. You
can undo only the last action that you performed.
