Define a Connection for an SAPGUI Logical Name

The SAPGUI logical name connection uses SAPGUI parameters to connect to the SAP system. You can use this option only if these conditions are true:
  • The machine where the SAS server runs has 32-bit Windows installed.
  • SAPGUI is installed on the machine that is running the SAS server.
  • The SAP system definitions have been entered into the SAP login.
Follow these steps to define an SAPGUI logical name connection.
  1. Select the SAPGUI Logical Name connection type in the Connection Properties page.
  2. Click Options to display the SAPGUI Logical Name Options dialog box.
  3. In the SAP Logon ID – 32-Bit Windows field, enter the SAP login ID to use to connect to the SAP System. It is defined by SAPGUI, and you can use it only on a machine that is running 32-bit Windows.
  4. Click OK in the SAPGUI Logical Name Options dialog box to save the login ID and return to the Connection Properties page.
