To define the SAP system
library, use the New Library wizard from
the Data Library Manager in SAS Management Console.
The SAP system library
uses the SAP LIBNAME engine to connect to and communicate with the
SAP system where your data is stored. For more information about the
SAP LIBNAME engine, see SAS/ACCESS Interface to R/3: User's
Guide.
If you use both the SAP
BW Register Tables and SAP R/3 Register Tables wizard,
you need an SAP system library for each system. These must be defined
in SAS Management Console. An administrator typically defines them.
Follow these steps to
define a new SAP system library using the New SAP Library wizard.
-
To open SAS Management
Console, select
Start
Programs
SAS
SAS Management Console.
-
Select
Data Library Manager
Libraries.
-
To start the
New
SAP Library wizard, select

New Library.
-
Select SAP
Library from the Enterprise Applications
Data folder in the tree view and click Next.
-
Enter a name and description
for the SAP system library and click Next.
-
Select an SAS server
from the list. Click the right-arrow button and then Next.
-
Enter a library reference
in the Libref field. This is the temporary
name or alias that is associated with your SAP system when you click Finish in
the New Library wizard. The default is SAPEng,
and the SASIOSR3 engine is selected by default.

-
Click Next and
review the SAP system library definition.
