Select Extraction Options Page (for InfoCubes)

Use this page (for InfoCubes) to perform these tasks:
  • how to extract data from a specified InfoCube
  • where to save the SAS data sets that contain the extracted SAP BW data
  • a metadata folder location for storing the table and job metadata that this extraction operation extracts
This page contains these items.
Extraction Options
CDC Extraction
lets you specify whether you want to use change data capture (CDC) processing in the extraction process. Use CDC processing to extract only the data that has changed since your last extraction. Select this check box if you want to use CDC processing.
Date
Select a date
lets you select the date that is associated with the master tables and text tables that you want to use from the InfoCube. The default date is today's date. You can either enter a different date using the MMMDDYYYY format or you can click the button to the right of the field to select a date from a calendar. In SAP BW, master tables and text tables might be time-dependent. The date that you specify is the date that is associated with the master table and text tables that are extracted from the SAP BW system.
SAS Library
identifies the name and location of the BW star library. This is the library where you want to store SAS data sets that contain SAP BW data. SAP BW data is extracted from the specified InfoCube. When the InfoCube data is extracted, it is converted from a snowflake schema to a star schema. When the conversion process completes, a fact table, dimension tables, and a star schema view are saved in the data sets in this library.
BW star library
identifies the name of the library where the data that is extracted from the specified InfoCube data is saved as SAS data sets.
Directory
identifies the complete path of the directory that is associated with the BW star library.
Folder
Use Browse to specify a metadata folder location to store table and job metadata created by this extraction operation.
