To define the SAP system
library, use the
New Library wizard from
the Data Library Manager in SAS Management Console.
The SAP system library
uses the SAP LIBNAME engine to connect to and communicate with the
SAP system where your data is stored. For more information about the
SAP LIBNAME engine, see
SAS/ACCESS Interface to R/3: User's
Guide.
If you use both the
SAP BW Register Tables and
SAP R/3 Register
Tables wizard, you need an SAP system library for each
system. These must be defined in SAS Management Console. An administrator
typically defines them.
Follow these steps to
define a new SAP system library using the
New SAP Library wizard.

To open SAS Management
Console, select
Start
Programs
SAS
SAS Management
Console.

Select
Data Library Manager
Libraries.

To start the
New SAP Library wizard, select
Actions
New Library.

Select
SAP
Library from the
Enterprise Applications
Data folder in the tree view and click
Next.

Enter a name and description
for the SAP system library and click
Next.

Select an SAS server
from the list. Click the right-arrow button and then
Next.

Enter a library reference
in the
Libref field. This is the temporary
name or alias that is associated with your SAP system when you click
Finish in the
New Library wizard.
The default is
SAPEng, and the
SASIOSR3 engine is selected by default.

Click
Next and review the SAP system library definition.

Click
Finish to register the SAP system library definition in the metadata repository.
