Search for Data Values

To perform a search for data values:
  1. Select Datathen selectFind from the main menu bar.
  2. In the Find field, select the type of search that you want to perform:
    Members on rows
    specifies that the search target is a hierarchy member on the vertical axis.
    Members on columns
    specifies that the search target is a hierarchy member on the horizontal axis.
    Cell values by row
    specifies that the search target is a cell value. The search examines all of the values in each row before proceeding to the next column.
    Cell values by column
    specifies that the search target is a cell value. The search examines all of the values in each column before proceeding to the next row.
  3. Select a Condition for the search:
    Equal to
    specifies that the target value must match exactly.
    Starts with (hierarchy members only)
    specifies that the first part of the target value must match.
    Contains (hierarchy members only)
    specifies that the value in the Value field can match any part of the target value.
  4. Enter a Value for the search. This can be either a character string (case insensitive) or a number.
  5. Select the Direction for the search:
    Forward
    specifies that the search moves forward (toward the lower-right corner of the table) from the current position.
    Backward
    specifies that the search moves backward (toward the upper-left corner of the table) from the current position.
  6. Click Find Next to submit the search. If the search is successful, the table viewer will scroll to the first match. If the search is not successful, a message appears: "Finished Searching."
