Add a Server Connection for iPad

When you first open the SAS Mobile BI for iPad app, the only connection that is available is to the SAS Demo Server.
To access your organization’s library server, you must add a connection to that server. If your organization has more than one server, you can add connections to these servers in the same way.
Note: Contact your SAS Visual Analytics system administrator for your user ID, password, and server information.
To connect to a server:
  1. Tap Library in the portfolio.
  2. Tap Connections.
  3. Tap Add Connection.
  4. Tap in the Domain field, and enter the address of the server.
  5. Tap in the Port field, and enter the port number for the server.
  6. Tap the Secure connection switch if the server requires a secure connection (SSL).
  7. Tap Next to verify the connection.
    Note: If the connection fails, a message is displayed to help you correct the problem.
  8. If the server provides guest access, the Log on as guest switch appears. Tap the Log on as guest switch to access the server as a guest.
  9. If the server requires security credentials to access reports:
    1. Tap the User ID field, and enter your user ID.
    2. Tap the Password field, and enter your password.
  10. (Optional) Tap the Description field to customize the description for the connection.
  11. Tap Next to verify the connection.
    Note: If the connection fails, a message is displayed to help you correct the problem.
  12. Tap Save.
The connection is saved and the Connections window closes.
If the connection is to a passcode-protected server, the app requires you to create a passcode.
Information about available reports is automatically downloaded and appears in the library.
