To search for tweets
and import them:
-
Select
Twitter in
the import data panel.
The first time you import
tweets, you are directed to the Twitter website to log on to your
account and authorize SAS Visual Analytics. After the initial logon,
SAS Visual Analytics uses authorization tokens for accessing Twitter
instead of requiring you to log on each time.
-
Enter a search term
and the maximum number of tweets to return.
Note: SAS does not support search
terms that include double-byte characters.
-
(Optional) In the
LASR
Table section, enter the name for the table and a description.
Review the library and location settings by clicking
Advanced and
make changes if necessary.
You do not have access
to the
Advanced section if you are using
the explorer or designer and do not have the Build Data capability.
Instead, you can import the data to a general-purpose area or select
Store
the table in a private location to prevent other users
from accessing the data.
-
(Optional) Review the
Proxy
Server section and make changes if necessary.
-
The first time that
you successfully log on to Twitter, SAS stores authorization tokens
that enable you to import tweets again without logging on to Twitter.
If you click
Clear Authorization Tokens,
the tokens are removed from SAS Visual Analytics.
Note: Rate limits apply to the
Twitter service. Such limits are outside of the control of SAS. You
are required to follow all applicable terms of use that Twitter and
others might promulgate as to the Twitter data.
Note: Certain functionality in
the software enables the user to invoke external third-party resources.
Be aware that use of these resources might result in disclosure and
transmission of information that the user submits to these resources.
