Using the Code View

You can click the Code button to view the SQL statements that are generated by the data preparation expressions in the design view.

From the code view, you can click the button to unlock the view for manual editing of the SQL statements. Once you have unlocked the view, the button icon changes to to indicate the status.

Once you have unlocked the view, you cannot continue using the design view to edit the query. However, if you have not saved your changes, you can click the button to revert back to using the design view.
