The data preparation
interface uses table metadata for information about table properties
such as the column names and data types. Source tables are registered
in metadata with SAS Management Console before you use the data preparation
interface. Afterward, you use the data preparation interface to select
a source table to use for creating a job.
When you create a prepare
data job, you must specify an output table on the
Data
Output page of the prepare data job. For deployments
that use a third-party vendor database as a co-located data provider,
the prepare data job can also add the table to the data server. These
tables must be registered in metadata so that you can select the table
in the data preparation interface in order to load the table to memory
on the SAS LASR Analytic Server.
