The variable in the FREQ statement identifies a variable containing the frequency of occurrence of each observation. PROC LIFETEST treats each observation as if it appeared times, where is the value of the FREQ variable for the observation. The FREQ statement is useful for producing life tables when the data are already in the form of a summary data set. If not an integer, the frequency value is truncated to an integer. If the frequency value is missing or less than one, the observation is not used.
