Introduction

This chapter describes how to access SPD Server by using SAS and the SPD Server SQL pass-through facility, or by using a SAS LIBNAME statement. The chapter demonstrates typical data tasks on an SPD Server host. Power users who have special privileges should see SAS Scalable Performance Data (SPD) Server Operator Interface Procedure (PROC SPDO) in SAS Scalable Performance Data Server: Administrator's Guide.
Note: For readability, this chapter refers to the SPD Server SQL pass-through facility as simply the SQL pass-through facility, unless the context requires a more explicit reference. Similarly, when the chapter references a name server, it is the SPD Server name server.
