The LIBNAME statement
implements the
SAS/SHARE
Remote Library Services (RLS), which provides transparent access to
remote data libraries to move data through the network as it is requested
by the local SAS session.
A LIBNAME statement
associates a SAS library reference (libref) with a permanent SAS library.
In
SAS/SHARE software, the
SAS library is accessed through a SAS server and is called a
server library.
