| Writing End-User Applications to Access Shared Data |
The SAS/SHARE lock manager enables multiple clients to share the same
SAS file at the same time. The server's ability to manage multi-client access
of selected data objects is contingent on a complex set of locking rules that
are affected by many factors. These locking rules must be considered in relation
to each programming product (SAS and other products) that you use to write
applications that enable accessing data through the SAS/SHARE server. For
