If you need to rename a physical table within a
metadata-bound library, use the DATASETS
procedure or the
Explorer window. If a
secured table object with the new name already exists within the
secured library object, access to the physical table is governed by permissions for that secured table
object. If no secured table object exists with the new name, a new secured table object
is created. Any direct access controls (explicit permissions and directly applied
access control templates) on the secured table object with the old name are set on
the new secured table object.
