The SAS ODBC Driver provides a text field to store a
user password on the
SAS/SHARE Options dialog
box when you define a connection to a
SAS/SHARE server or an SPD Server.
If you provide a password, then the SAS ODBC Driver encrypts the password
and stores the encrypted value in the Windows registry.
If you
do not provide a password, when you use the DSN in an application,
the
Enter User Name and Password dialog box
prompts for credentials. If you do not want to store encrypted passwords,
the SAS ODBC Driver can accept credentials from the application.

see Userid/Password Override.
