Determine the Database to Use

You can use either Oracle or the SAS Decision Manager Common Data Server for the SAS Decision Manager database.

The SAS Decision Manager Common Data Server is based on PostgreSQL 9.1.9. For more information, see SAS Web Infrastructure Platform Data Server in SAS Intelligence Platform: Middle-Tier Administration Guide at http://support.sas.com/documentation/intellplatform/index.html.

For Oracle, complete the tasks described in Pre-installation Tasks for an Oracle Database. For SAS Decision Manager Common Data Server, ensure that you have the information listed in Pre-installation Tasks for SAS Decision Manager Common Data Server.
