A revision is at the
leaf level of the object hierarchy. Each revision contains source
code, an executable code stream (optimized binary executable), and
metadata. The metadata describes the methods, method signatures,
and entry points in the code.
SAS Micro Analytic Service
assigns a revision number to each revision, which is a monotonically
increasing integer value beginning with 1. A revision is uniquely
identified by module ID and revision number. When you reference a
revision, specifying revision number zero selects the latest revision.
Note: A lookup is incurred when
revision zero is specified. Therefore, for maximum performance, a
nonzero revision number should be used when possible.
