This analysis is appropriate when you have a single quantitative factor, and you believe the observed values of the response to be directly related to the values of the factor. It is used to detect and model the dependence of the response on the value of the factor.
When you have several factors that you want to investigate, the Simple Linear Regression is not appropriate; use Multiple Regression and ANOVA instead.
