that you have an existing SAS environment that includes a local or
remote SAS server for accessing data. The server determines which
driver you use in your application as explained in the following table.

Here are some additional
system requirements:

To access data through the SAS
Workspace Server, a SAS Workspace Server must be licensed and installed.

To access data through a
SAS/SHARE
server, a
SAS/SHARE server must be licensed and installed.

JRE 1.5 or later must be installed.

A CLASSPATH environment variable
must be properly configured.
