Limit the Reports That the Filters Can Retrieve When Creating a Gallery

When you create a gallery in Gallery Manager, you use primary and secondary filters to subset the reports that are on the SAS Content Server. By default, primary filters must reduce the number of reports to no more than 30,000 before you can continue with the next step to subset the reports further with secondary filters. Secondary filters must reduce the number of reports to no more than 20,000 before you can finish creating the gallery.
The default limits are specified to help manage the size of galleries and avoid unnecessarily large report sets that make it difficult to locate specific reports. However, you can specify the default limits to meet the needs of your organization if you need larger or smaller galleries.
To specify your own default limits, perform the following steps:
  1. Open SAS Management Console with administrator login credentials. (To update the default report limits for the primary and secondary filters, use the SAS Administrative ID, which is sasadm.)
  2. On the Plug-ins tab, expand Application Managementthen selectConfiguration Managerthen selectSAS Application Infrastructure.
Note: The Configuration Manager is installed as part of the SAS Web Infrastructure Client. If you do not see this plug-in in SAS Management Console, then you can install it in the Software Deployment Wizard by selecting Install Additional Software and selecting the SAS Web Infrastructure Client.
  3. Expand SAS Application Infrastructure.
  4. Right-click ITRM Gallery Manager 3.3 and select Properties.
  5. On the Advanced tab, specify the following parameters:
    • itrmgm.PrimaryRptCnt specifies the limit for primary filters.
    • itrmgm.SecondaryRptCnt specifies the limit for secondary filters.
Note: The values for these parameters can be any valid integer.
  6. Restart the Gallery Manager application.
