SAS IT Resource Management provides
flexibility and portability of report jobs, Gallery transformations,
and report definitions by enabling you to specify the location of
the source data for a report in various ways.
Here are the ways
that you can specify the data source location and how the report job
uses these paths to find the data source:
-
In the Gallery transformation and
ITRM Gallery task, do not specify a data path.
If a data source location
is not specified within the Gallery transformation or report definition
from an ITRM Gallery task, then the report job looks for the data
source in the same IT data mart folder as the report job. This is
the default and recommended scenario.
Tip
The
Adapter Setup wizard stores data sources (or information maps) in the same folder
as their corresponding report jobs. Thus, a Gallery transformation
that the
Adapter Setup wizard creates does
not include values in the
Data Source Folder column, and the report definitions that the
Adapter
Setup wizard uses do not include data path locations. For
consistency and portability of your reporting components, save your
information maps in the same folder as their corresponding report
jobs and do not specify a data source location in your Gallery transformations
or report definitions.
-
If you enter a data
path in this field, then the report job uses this path, regardless
of whether a data source location is specified in the report definition
from the ITRM Gallery task. If this field is blank, then the report
job checks the corresponding report definition to identify a data
source location.
The default value is
blank.
-
If you select
Yes to include the data path in the report definition,
then the path is hard coded with the report definition and the data
path appears in the
Properties of report definition box of the Gallery transformation. The report job uses this path,
unless the corresponding Gallery transformation includes a value for
the
Data Source Folder that overrides the
report definition.
By default, the ITRM
Gallery task does not specify a data path in the report definition
that it creates.
