What’s New In SAS LASR Analytic Server

Overview

SAS LASR Analytic Server 2.7 includes the following changes:
  • SAS Data in HDFS engine has been renamed to SASHDAT engine.
  • support for text analytics with additional languages
  • enhancements to the documentation

SASHDAT Engine Name

The SAS Data in HDFS engine references in this document have been changed to SASHDAT engine. This has been done because the engine can work with SASHDAT files using the MapR NFS service and the files are not always stored in Apache HDFS.

Support for Text Analytics with Additional Languages

The TEXTPARSE statement in the IMSTAT procedure is enhanced to support a LANGUAGE= option. The option enables you to analyze text in several languages. For more information, see LANGUAGE= .

Documentation Enhancements

  • Documentation for the OLIPHANT procedure has been removed. Documentation is available in previous editions of this document. The procedure remains supported for use with the SAS High-Performance Deployment for Hadoop. The procedure is not supported for use with the NFS-mounted file systems, such as the one provided by the MapR NFS service.
  • Information about the PERM= option that is common to the SAS LASR Analytic Server engine and SASHDAT engine is clarified. On Windows platforms, the access permissions are controlled by the permissions that you set manually on the signature file directory.
  • Information about managing memory has been updated in the Managing Resources appendix.
  • The DESCISIONTREE statement example, Storing and Scoring a Decision Tree, has been updated to clarify the use of SCOREDATA= and LASRTREE= for scoring.
  • Information about using the TEMPTABLE, CODE, and SCORE options and the effect on output has been added to the IMSTAT procedure
