About Personal, Public, and Group Content

In the SAS Information Delivery Portal, each content item that you can access is classified as personal, public, or group content. The following table describes these types of content:
Content Type
Description
Personal Content
Personal content is content that you created. You can create your own pages, portlets, links, applications, and syndication channels. After you create these items, you can access them from the portal. You can also edit them, remove them from your personal portal, use the search tool to find them, or delete them permanently.
Other portal users cannot access your personal content unless they are designated as portal administrators.
Group Content
Group content is content that has been shared with a group of portal users so that all users in the group can access it. You can share your personal content with a group only if you are either a content administrator for the target group, or you are a portal administrator. Only content administrators and portal administrators can edit and delete group content.
Public content
Public content is content that has been shared with the portal's Public group so that all portal users can access it. You can share your personal content with the Public group only if you are either a content administrator for the Public group, or you are a portal administrator. Only content administrators and portal administrators can edit and delete public content.
