| Experimental software may be included as part of a production product. The designation is often used for the preliminary release of software to get user feedback. Whenever an experimental procedure, statement, or option is used, a message is printed to the SAS log. The design and syntax of experimental software may change before its production release. It's important to note that, while experimental software has been tested before its release, it has not received the level of testing that SAS Institute deems necessary for software to be called 'production.'
