SAS Data Loader for
Hadoop runs inside a virtual machine called a vApp. The vApp is a
complete and isolated operating environment that is accessed through
a web browser. Each instance of SAS Data Loader for Hadoop is accessed
by a single user. The vApp is started and stopped by a hypervisor
application called VMware Player Pro.
The vApp architecture
greatly simplifies the software installation and update processes.
The installation runs without user input, and there are no configuration
files or system options to configure after installation. The addition
of site-specific client configuration settings is simple and quick.
The software informs you when an update is available, and a single
click installs the update.
