You can
use Edit mode to create a report. To create a new report from scratch,
complete these steps:

To access
Edit mode, do one of the following:

Select
FileNew to access
Edit mode.

Select
New or
New report in the
Welcome window.

Choose
your data source and then design the layout of the new report.
You can
perform most of the required tasks in either Edit or View mode. Tasks
that are specific to Edit mode include linking reports, adding group
breaks, positioning objects (such as tables, graphs, geographical
maps, and images), and working with the layout grid (for example,
splitting and merging cells).

You can drag report and graph objects and drop them on
the layout.
