Third-Party Software Components

The Web application server provides the execution environment for Web applications that run on the middle tier. The following third-party servers are supported:

• JBoss Application Server

• IBM WebSphere Application Server

• Oracle WebLogic Server

For information about the currently supported versions of these products, see the SAS third-party Web page at http://support.sas.com/resources/thirdpartysupport/v92/. The Web applications in the middle-tier are supported on Windows and UNIX operating systems.

The following applications and services run in the Web application server environment:

• applications and services that are part of the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform

• SAS Shared Services

• the SAS Web Report Studio, SAS Web OLAP Viewer for Java, SAS Information Delivery Portal, SAS BI Dashboard, and SAS Help Viewer for the Web applications

Depending on which products and solutions you have purchased, your site might have additional Web applications.

Java Development Kit (JDK) 5 is required to run the Web application server. For information about the currently supported versions of the JDK, see the SAS third-party Web site at http://support.sas.com/resources/thirdpartysupport/v92.
