If
your installation includes a SAS Content Server and SAS Framework
Data Server, you can use the Validate feature to determine whether
these servers is set up correctly, as follows:.
Note: The user who validates the
framework data server must be specified as a system user in the server’s
configuration file (dfs_serv.xml, located in
SAS-configuration-directory/Lev1/FrameworkServer/dffedsvrcfg
). By default, this file specifies the SAS Administrator as a system
user.
-
Log on to SAS Management
Console, and expand the
Server Manager node.
-
Right-click the
SAS Content Server node and select
Validate.
SAS Management Console
attempts to make a WebDAV connection to the server. If the connection
is successful, the following message is displayed:
Validation Successful!
This message indicates that a WebDAV server is listening on the specified
host and port, and that the first configured base path exists on the
server.
If the connection is
not successful, an error message is displayed.
-
Expand the node for
the logical SAS Framework Data Server. Then right-click the
FrameworkServer node and select
Validate.
SAS Management Console
attempts to connect to the server and submit a query. If the connection
and the query are successful, the following message is displayed:
Validation Successful!
If the validation is
not successful, an error message is displayed.
Note: To run more extensive validation
tests on the SAS Content Server, you can use the SAS Deployment Tester
plug-in in SAS Management Console or the SAS Deployment Tester batch
clients. See
Using the Deployment Tester or the SAS
Management Console Help.
