Performing Pre-migration Tasks |
As a best practice, we recommend that you make sure that you have an up-to-date operating system backup of your SAS 9.1.3 deployment. If you have a multi-machine deployment, this means your SAS Metadata Server machine, server tier, middle tier, and data tier. Make sure that you have shut down the SAS 9.1.3 Metadata Server and have backed up the following:
SAS 9.1.3 configuration and metadata repository directories
By default, these directories are:
Windows:
C:\SAS\configuration-directory\Levn
UNIX:
/users/sas/SAS/configuration-name/Levn
Note: When backups of the metadata server configuration directory are stored under the current metadata configuration directory, the SAS Migration Utility might use the wrong configuration directory when it creates the migration package. Typically, omaconfig.xml is located in the Levn/SASMain subdirectory and the rposmgr subdirectory is located in Levn/SASMain/MetadataServer. Any other rposmgr subdirectories under SASMain or any other omaconfig.xml files under SASMain might cause the migration package to be created incorrectly. To avoid this problem, rename the backup omaconfig.xml file or the rposmgr directory and rerun the SAS Migration Utility so that the correct subdirectory is identified.
SAS 9.1.3 product and data directories
By default, these directories are:
Windows:
C:\Program Files\SAS
UNIX:
/usr/local/SAS
Windows Registry on the SAS 9.1.3 Metadata Server machine.
