Overview of Administering SAS Enterprise Guide
SAS Enterprise Guide provides a graphical interface into the SAS programming language. Wizards and menu options enable you to quickly generate graphical projects, tasks, and process flows. The process flows analyze data, generate graphs, generate reports, and publish reports. Behind each process flow is a SAS program that you can execute and edit.
You can also use SAS Enterprise Guide to register libraries in metadata. The only other desktop application that registers libraries is SAS Management Console.
As part of the SAS Intelligence Platform, SAS Enterprise Guide is frequently used to query OLAP cubes and generate stored processes.
After you, the administrator, install SAS Enterprise Guide, you need to help SAS Enterprise Guide users create connection profiles that enable them to connect to SAS Metadata Servers. Users might also need your assistance with the selection of SAS Workspace Servers for data access and remote execution of SAS jobs and programs.
Based on client data access requirements, you also need to ensure that SAS Enterprise Guide users have permission to access the appropriate libraries, servers, and data tables.
Additional installation and configuration steps are required to use an ESRI server to integrate your SAS OLAP cube data with geographic maps using SAS Enterprise Guide.
