Preparing Data for Your Ready-Made Applications

Introduction

After you have chosen the SAS/EIS object that meets your application development needs, the next step is to prepare your data to take advantage of that object's special features. The basic SAS/EIS objects use data that contain the default SAS table and column attributes. You do not need to prepare your data in any special way for use with these objects.

By contrast, data-driven SAS/EIS applications such as multidimensional reports, business reports, and business graphs require you to identify the data to the object by registering data in a repository in the metabase facility.
