Specifying a Candidate Set

Click the Candidate Runs tab to specify the candidate set. In this example, the design region excludes runs where more than two of the two-level factors are at the +1 level. Because these factors have (-1,+1) encoding, points where the sum of the levels of X3, X4, X5, and X6 is greater than zero are excluded. Follow these steps:

  1. Click Exclude.
  2. Select X3 from the list.
  3. The Operators menu will automatically appear. Select the + operator.
  4. Select X4 and then select +.
  5. Select X5 and then select +.
  6. Select X6 and then select GT. GT stands for "Greater Than."
  7. Select <CONSTANT enter value> from the list and type 0.
  8. Click OK to accept the value.
