Fractional Factorial Designs with Blocks and Center Points

Chapter Topics

Fractional factorial designs are commonly used to screen for important effects, especially when runs are expensive. Adding center points is useful for detecting nonlinearity in the response. Replicated center points also provide an estimate of variance. Blocks are helpful for removing nuisance effects, such as those caused by running an experiment over several days, from the response data.
