| Server Modes |
Starting with SAS/ACCESS 9.2, the server can run in two modes: Server Mode as a desktop application (available before 9.2), and Service Mode as a Windows service. Only one instance of the server can be running on a single PC at any given time.
| PC Files Server Installation |
By default, there is an installation option that enables PC Files Server to run automatically in service mode. When this option is set during installation, PC Files Server automatically starts as a service. If the option is cleared during installation, PC Files Server does not start automatically, and the server has to be started manually.
