Overview

SAS/ACCESS 9.2 Interface to PC Files has these new features and enhancements:

  • support for running the PC Files Server as a Windows service

  • new PC Files Server authentication option

  • new PC Files Server autostart for Microsoft 64-bit Windows systems

  • support for Microsoft Excel 2007 and Microsoft 2007 Access files

  • support for UNICODE= LIBNAME option

  • support for FMTLIB option to support user-defined formats

  • support for new file formats

  • date and time value differences between SAS and Microsoft files

  • documentation enhancements for SAS/ACCESS Interface to PC Files


Enhanced Support for the Wizards and the Procedures

Enhanced PC-specific support is available for the IMPORT and EXPORT procedures, as well as the Import and Export Wizards.

Date/Time Value Differences between SAS and Microsoft Files

In different versions of SAS, the IMPORT procedure and the LIBNAME engine can read in date and time values from a Microsoft Access databases and Microsoft Excel workbooks using different formats.
