External File Interface (EFI)

From the main window of the Import and Export Wizards, you can also access the External File Interface (EFI). This is a point-and-click interface that you can use to read and write data in a file type that is not known to the Import and Export Wizards. For example, you could use the EFI to transfer data from a SAS data set to a file format that is proprietary for your company.

As shown in the following display, you can access the EFI by opening the Import Wizard and selecting the User-defined formats check box.
