Connecting to Remote SAS Servers via IOM Bridge for COM IOM Bridge for COM requires the installation of Microsoft's TCP/IP networking protocol, which is provided with all supported versions of Windows. Product Requirements for the SAS Server SAS Integration Technologies Client is compatible with all releases of Version 8.2 and higher of the SAS System. However, certain features of SAS Integration Technologies Client are only available when used with later releases of the SAS System. For example, you can create and run stored processes only using SAS 9.1 or later. If you have written custom code that uses the ObjectManager to read metadata, you may need to modify your code to use the new 9.2 metadata server. To read metadata from a SAS 9.2 Metadata Server, you must use the IObjectFactory2 interface instead of the IObjectFactory interface. The SAS Integration Technologies Client includes two different versions of the Integration Technologies Configuration Utility: itconfig.exe and itconfig2.exe. itconfig2.exe is newer and is used to define the default metadata server for applications using the 9.2 version of the SAS Metadata Server. itconfig.exe is the same as what was shipped with previous versions of SAS and is used to define the connection to the previous versions of the SAS Metadata Server. The Start menu item points to itconfig2.exe. To launch itconfig.exe, you can use a cmd prompt. By default, itconfig.exe is located at C:\Program Files\SAS\Shared Files\Integration Technologies\itconfig.exe. Installing SAS Integration Technologies Client 9.22 Before performing the following steps, users should ensure they are logged in as an administrator. 1. Unpack the download package to a location that is accessible from where you want to install the software. Do not put the download package in an existing SAS Software Depot or in the directory where you want to install.
