SAS® BI Lineage Plug-in 3.1

Prerequisites

The SAS BI Lineage Plug-in requires several SAS products to be installed. The
following sections describe how to determine if you have the appropriate
products, how to install them from media you already have, and how to receive
that media if you do not have it.

SAS Service Pack 4

SAS Service Pack 4 should be applied to the machine where you are going to
install the SAS BI Lineage Plug-in. To determine if you have Service Pack 4,
begin an instance of SAS and check the About information. If you have not
already applied SAS Service Pack 4, you may download it from
http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/e9_sbcs_prod_list.html#e9h004. Follow
the instructions on the download site to install the service pack.

If you would prefer to receive Service Pack 4 on media, please contact SAS
Technical Support to request a physical kit.

SAS Foundation Services 1.4

SAS Foundation Services 1.4 must be installed on the machine where you are going
to install the SAS BI Lineage Plug-in. To determine if you have the correct
version of SAS Foundation Services, find the location where SAS Management
Console has been installed, the SASManagementConsole directory. The default
location for Windows installations is C:/program files/sas/SASManagementConsole;
on UNIX, the default is /usr/local/SAS/SASManagementConsole/.

If you have SAS Foundation Services installed, there will be a
SASFoundationServices directory at the same level as the SASManagementConsole
directory. Drill into that directory to the 1.1 subdirectory and then further
into the jars subdirectory. Find the sas.svc.core.jar file and verify it has a
date of February 2006 or later (Windows users should check the “modified date”).

If you do not have the SASFoundationServices directory or if you have that
directory but the sas.svc.core.jar file does not have the required date, you
should download SAS Foundation Services from
http://www.sas.com/apps/demosdownloads/foundationsvcs_PROD_1.1_sysdep.jsp?packag
eID=000305. Follow the instructions from that Web site to install SAS Foundation
Services 1.4.

Installing the SAS BI Lineage Plug-in

In order to install the SAS BI Lineage Plug-in, download the software from the
Web site where you found this document and invoke the Windows executable or
execute the UNIX tar file. Follow the instructions in the installation dialogs.
Ensure that you are installing SAS BI Lineage on a machine that also has SAS
Management Console on it.
