README: SAS Design-Time Controls

Please review all of the information below before you proceed with the installation process. Important information is presented that will assist you in successfully installing this product.

Documentation

Documentation for the SAS Design-Time Controls is provided as a Windows Help file and also on the SAS/IntrNet Web site.

The Windows Help file is available only after you complete the installation process. To find the Help, select Programs The SAS System Design-Time Controls Design-Time Controls Help from your Windows Start menu.

If you need to refer to the documentation before the installation is completed or if you want to check for the latest updates, refer to the documentation that is on the Web site.

SAS Design-Time Controls Components

This package contains the SAS Design-Time Controls. The following components are included:

• Client components (Windows only)
• Dreamweaver components (Windows only)
• Web server components (multiple platforms)
• SAS server components (multiple platforms).

For a detailed description of each of these components and for important installation information, please refer to the Components in the SAS Design-Time Controls Package topic in the documentation. Please review this information before proceeding with the installation process.

Installing the SAS Design-Time Controls

Before You Begin...

Before you install the SAS Design-Time Controls, you must first set up the SAS/IntrNet product. You must also have the following information, which is requested during the installation process (refer to the Default Connection Information topic in the documentation to see an example of valid values):

• your Web server name
• your Application Broker URL path
• your Application Dispatcher service name

• the URL path where the SAS/GRAPH applets are installed.

If you want to use the Dreamweaver components, install the Macromedia Dreamweaver product before you install the SAS Design-Time Controls.

Starting the Installation Program

Double-click on the sasdtc.exe file to begin installing the SAS Design-Time Controls. Follow the instructions on the dialogs that are presented.

Enabling JSP Support

If you want to use the SAS Design-Time Controls with JSP support, perform the manual steps that are outlined in the Enabling JSP Support topic in the documentation.

Enabling the SAS Server Components

Refer to SAS Server Components to determine what additional steps need to be performed for your SAS server.

Testing the Installation

At this point, test to ensure that you completed the installation successfully. Perform the steps that are outlined in the Testing the Installation topic in the documentation.

Troubleshooting information is available for the SAS Design-Time Controls. If you encounter problems, please review this information before contacting Technical Support.
