| Howdy Partner, I've always been fascinated by the history of the American Old West. I'll admit, it was the exciting stories of gold rushes and cowboys and Indians that grabbed me as a boy, but as I got older, it was the pioneers, the true heroes of the Old West, that kept drawing me in.
In the 1800s, a trip across the country was a five month endeavor. Since most pioneer families made the trek in covered wagons that could only carry a limited amount of supplies, trading posts became an essential part of a pioneer's journey. Trading posts not only replenished critical provisions, but they provided a place for people to meet and exchange the news of the day, share tips on how to survive in an unfamiliar land and trade maps showing the right routes for safe passage west.
In many ways you're a pioneer too. As a SAS expert in your organization, you open up your organization's data frontier and help navigate today's challenges while capitalizing on tomorrow's opportunities.
And if you're the pioneer, SAS Education is the trading post, providing you the knowledge and resources you need to be your organization's hero. In fact, it was the frontier trading post that inspired our latest knowledge transfer vehicle, our new blog site, the SAS Training Post.
In the frontier spirit of sharing and exploration, the SAS Training Post provides you with an insider's view into the world of SAS training. With guest posts from our "Fine as cream gravy" instructors (that's Old West slang for "top notch"), you'll learn tips and tricks to become a better SAS user. You'll also hear from our course developers on SAS' newest technologies and course offerings, making you a real trailblazer for your organization.
So stop being a Coffee Boiler (procrastinator) and subscribe to our blog today.
Guess I better mosey on!
Until next month,
Larry LaRusso
