Dear Reader,
Though many will dismiss it as simply a diversion from the real world, I think we can learn a lot of valuable life lessons from sports.
Consider the recently concluded World Series. A few nights ago the New York Yankees won their 27th baseball championship. While many will say the Yankees won because they had the best players (and they did have the highest payroll in baseball), I say they won because of the countless hours the organization put into developing a plan and then confidently executing it.
When asked how he liked his team's chances entering the World Series, Yankee General Manager Brian Cashman said if they got beaten it was because their opponents were the better team, not because the Yankees lacked a sound plan.
