Dear Readers,
Nearly a decade ago this month SAS Education, determined to share the latest academic research and business best practices in the field, offered its first annual data mining conference. M98, held at SAS World Headquarters in Cary, attracted around 100 attendees and included two keynote talks and four best-practices presentations.

On October 1-2, Education will host its tenth such offering, M2007. And talk about growth. Our "little" data mining conference has grown more than 700 percent and become the largest and most respected data mining knowledge-transfer conference in the world. Now held in Las Vegas at Caesar's Palace, our 10th anniversary installment has attracted more than 700 data mining practitioners and will offer talks from 55 of the most respected data mining experts in the world. Nearly 300 of those attendees will remain in Las Vegas to take one or more of our seven post-conference data mining training courses.

We're excited about this year's lineup of speakers and the buzz the conference has generated in the data mining community. If you're a data miner, it's not too late to attend. And, if you're already signed up, I look forward to seeing you there. To learn more go to www.sas.com/m2007.

Enjoy this month's issue, and thanks for reading!
