Is your organization transitioning to SAS®9? Do you need a big-picture view of the software's capabilities? SAS Education offers two entry-level business intelligence (BI) courses that may be of interest to you: Overview of SAS Business Intelligence & Data Integration Applications and Introduction to SAS Business Intelligence Applications for Reporting & Analysis . Both courses are geared toward beginner BI users and both require the SAS Enterprise Intelligence Platform.
So how do you choose which course best meets your needs?
Training and Technical Services Manager Eric Rossland recently took some time to help answer that question. Rossland has developed several of SAS' BI courses, teaches most of them, and manages SAS Education's Business Intelligence team. He has used SAS software since 1987 and provided training services for SAS since 1998.

A chi-square quantile-quantile plot of the observations' squared Mahalanobis distances can be obtained allowing a visual assessment of multivariate normality. The third annual JMP User Conference set attendance records in June, attracting more than 220 users to SAS' headquarters in Cary, N.C., an 11-percent increase over 2005. The conference, which has increased its attendee numbers each year of its existence, included representatives from 103 different business, academic and government organizations, many from some of JMP's most prominent customers.
The event's success, however, wasn't just in its outstanding numbers. The conference afforded attendees an opportunity to hear some big-name keynotes in the world of JMP, explore some hot topics surrounding the software, and network with hundreds of peers using JMP in efficient and creative ways.
Speaking highlights included a presentation by SAS co-founder and JMP's principal designer John Sall and presentations by Princeton Professor Emeritus J. Stuart Hunter and Damon R. Stoddard, a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt and the manager of hardware quality at Microsoft.
Fresh off this year's success, SAS Education has already begun planning for the fourth annual JMP Users Conference, scheduled for the week of June 11, 2007. Check the conference's Web site www.jmp.com/juc06 for the most up-to-date information.
With six keynote addresses, more than 35 session talks, six in-depth training opportunities and an expected attendance of more than 700, SAS' annual data mining conference has become the largest data mining conference in the world. Given its appealing location (M2006 will be held again at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas) - and the fact that the conference gives attendees access to some of data mining's best and brightest minds - it's easy to see why the conference is so hard for practitioners and business decision-makers alike to resist.
Make sure you are in attendance for the world's premier event for data mining professionals. M2006 will be held at the in Las Vegas Oct. 23-24. All attendees who register before September 15 will receive $200 off the cost of the conference.
Enjoy 30 percent off all training from SAS Self-Paced e-Learning until August 31st, 2006. Training for programming, certification for SAS®9 preparation and business intelligence is available 24/7 at your desktop.
