Design Your Own Hash Objects Book

During the past few months, we've heard from several of you saying that you want to see SAS Press publish a book on hash objects. We've listened. We have found an author interested in this topic, and now we want your thoughts on the content of the book. If you could design a book around hash objects, what would it contain? Here are some of our ideas:

  • Merging data without sorting
  • Using more than one hash object in a program to merge data
  • SQL-like joins in the DATA step with a hash object
  • Description of hash object internals, to help describe where speed improvement comes from
  • Using an index and a hash together
  • Character value aggregation
What other topics do you want to see? E-mail us your ideas.
