JMP® Means Business: Statistical Models for Management

Two Titles to Get You Started!

Grasping the basics of JMP® Scripting Language (JSL) or learning SAS® programming can be intimidating and challenging. We can help with two books from our SAS Press Library. Wendy Murphrey and Rosemary Lucas are both support analysts in the Technical Support Division of SAS Institute, Inc., providing customer support for JMP software. Their book, Jump into JMP® Scripting, won the Award of Merit in the 2009-2010 Society for Technical Communication, Carolina Chapter's Technical Publications Competition. A Principal Engineer at Sun Microsystems, Robert Rutledge created and maintains an automated system based on SAS for monitoring the field reliability of Sun products. The automated system has become the standard for field reliability reporting within the company. In Just Enough SAS®, he provides "just enough" instruction on a variety of topics so that a new SAS user can become productive very quickly.

Jump into JMP® Scripting
By Wendy Murphrey and Rosemary Lucas

This book contains the essentials for getting started with the JMP Scripting Language (JSL). The first part of the book explains JSL topics in an easy-to-understand style based on the authors' extensive experience. Each topic includes step-by-step instructions and plenty of code examples. The second part of the book is a rich source of example scripts showing how to perform specific JSL tasks. Using a unique question-and-answer format, each example answers a question with a script sample. In addition, many examples include a discussion section that explains functions in detail or provides additional references.

Just Enough SAS®
By Robert A. Rutledge

This comprehensive text, prepared using SAS 9.2, can be used both as a tutorial for getting started with SAS and as a reference for details that even experienced SAS users find themselves looking up over and over again. In addition, the companion code to the book includes a set of commonly used utility macros that allow SAS users to wield maximum power with minimal effort. A complete bibliography provides readers with numerous resources for further learning.
