Spring into Action
Dear Readers –
While many throughout the U.S. spent the last week skiing, shoveling snow, or performing other winter activities, here in North Carolina we were teased with the taste of early spring - bulbs starting to bloom, green fuzz on the trees, and mostly sunny weather. The garden centers are packed with people buying mulch, seeds, and other paraphernalia needed for colorful gardens and smooth lawns to appear in the next couple of months.
Good preparation and a little work early on can achieve wonderful results later. With this in mind, have you made your plans to attend SAS Global Forum 2011? Early bird specials are almost over but there is still plenty of time to register and build your agenda - what better way to learn more about SAS and network with other SAS professionals? If you can’t make it to SAS Global forum, there are several other great conferences coming up where you can catch up on all the latest happenings at SAS. To get a jump on the latest books from SAS Press, be sure to check-out our Coming Soon page – you can sign up to get advance notice of when the books are available for sale.
I appreciate you being a subscriber to SAS Publishing News. Please feel free to drop me a line with questions or suggestions with ways to improve our publishing Web site to help you achieve your SAS goals.
Thanks for reading!

Hot Topics from SAS Press »
Contributed by Shelley Sessoms
I attended numerous conferences in 2010, and found one common theme: Many people were interested in writing a book for SAS, but they didn't know what to write about. I'd pull out my "wish list" and we'd go over our needs. Since not everyone goes to conferences, I decided it's time for me to share our needs with all of our readers.
We would like to publish books on the following subjects…but we need authors. So, come on. Take a look at the list. You know you want to write a book!
• Survey data analysis
• Power and sample size
• Text mining
• Modern regression analysis
• Forecasting
• SAS Enterprise Miner
• Implementing boot strapping
• Bayesian analysis
• Application of data standards
• Adaptive clinical trials
• Operations research; OPTMODEL
• Survival data mining
• SAS/ACCESS
• Educational research examples using SAS
Are you ready to discuss a proposal on one of these topics? Not quite ready, but want us to add something to the list? We’ll take either. Send me a note, and let's start talking!
