New Beginnings, New Goals, and New Successes

Dear Readers -

Sophocles, an ancient Greek tragedian, is attributed to writing “Success is dependent on effort”. Over 20 centuries later, Picasso echoed his sentiment by stating “Action is the foundational key to all success.”  In 2011, we here at SAS and all of our SAS users have proven both of those great men right.  SAS is now entering into its 35th year of business and what a successful 35 years it has been so far!   Not only that but we have the Number 1 U.S. ranking on FORTUNE's Best Companies to Work For list—for a second year in a row!  2011 is off to a terrific beginning.  We recognize that our combined future successes depend on the effort and action we all put forth today.  In light of that, here are a couple of offerings  to help on the way:

  • SAS Press is working on 20+ new titles in 2011.  Shelly Sessoms gives a recap of these titles and more on the SAS Press Author's home page.
  • In this issue, in our Extras and Experts section, Sean Gargan outlines his goals for SAS Publishing and Julie Platt gives a list of ten ideas to help you make your year more successful with SAS Press.
  • SAS Global Forum is right around the corner.  It’s the perfect place to find the resources you need to build your SAS skills, network with other SAS professionals, and learn about new topics and issues.
  • The new SAS Publishing catalog is available online. Inside you will find not only the books to help you in your SAS career path but also many helpful resources like a list of all of our social media tools, information about becoming SAS certified, various ways to contact us here at SAS Publishing and more.

Here is to a fantastic (and successful) 2011.  As always, thank  you for subscribing to SAS Publishing News and being part of the SAS family.

Regards-

Judi Rourke, SAS Publishing News Editor
